Dr Imran Petkar is a consultant clinical oncologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust specialising in the treatment of head and neck cancers and an adjunct senior lecturer at King’s College London.

His research interests are in the implementation of toxicity-mitigating strategies in head and neck cancers. Between 2015 and 2017, Dr Petkar undertook a 2-year clinical research fellowship within the head and neck unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital/Institute of Cancer Research.

His research investigated the application of dysphagia-optimised IMRT in oropharyngeal cancers, and he was subsequently awarded an MD (res). His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
